We’ve met Sofia Dozorets (@sofiadozorets), art director, photographer, blogger, and owner of the telegram channel With u with love. We asked her how to create a blog as calm and aesthetic as Sofia’s and how to be productive and stay in harmony with yourself.

How does the job of an art director and photographer help you in blogging?

A lot. These professions are close. For example, skills of an art director help me to work with color and newsfeed planning, and the experience in photography helps to work with the composition, the colour correction and the light. And vice versa – thanks to the management of the Instagram account, I learn very quickly about new visual trends, which I use then in my projects.
In my opinion these professions originate from the creativity. Observe, notice and broadcast. I am inspired and want to inspire others to see the beauty around and inside us. It is difficult for me to separate one from the other, because the approach through the prism of a certain aesthetics is the same for me in all my activities.

Are there any favourite bloggers whose visual aesthetics you like?

There is a huge amount of beauty on Instagram, unfortunately, I can’t name some particular bloggers. For me, the main source of inspiration remains offline – personal communication, travel and nature.

In what situations and when will the templates from our pack be useful? What do you think?

At any moment when you feel that you want to fix your “now”. It doesn’t matter whether it is going to be this particular moment or something from memories, our pack is a great way to do it. I think it turned out to be very sensual and personal. About external and internal beauty.

Sofia, you're a photographer, we're fans of your atmospheric shots. Could you please tell us about several techniques of work with the light?

You need to fall in love with it. This is generally my main method of work with the light, composition, and with people in the shot. I do not know how to work otherwise. To be precise, I know it’s very difficult and the result is unlikely to be outstanding.
The light is the most important thing in photography. You need to study it, observe it and fix which one wows you. One of the basic ways to start your friendship with the light is through shadows (metaphorically, right?). Pay attention to the shadow from the light source and build a frame based on its pattern.

Do you stick to certain colours in the blog?

Certain palettes are formed by themselves and they also replace each other by themselves. I don’t have strict limits on which colours can be used and which can’t. It happens intuitively. It can be compared to the seasons. The palettes and scales that nature creates are the best guides to colour combination. We understand it on a sensory level and through associations. For example, there will be no saturated yellow or delicate pistachio shades in the November foggy palette, and on a hot summer day they will be basics, and so on. I often have these inner palettes formed during my trips. Nature is my mentor and the main source of inspiration.

Do you use any principles of photo layout in the newsfeed?

Try to observe the harmony of composition, shapes and colour combinations. And I always try to have more “air” in the newsfeed.

What is the work life balance for you? Do you face burnout? Looking at your content, it seems that you are in Zen all the time 🙂
